Polo clubs gearing up around Ireland for the summer season ahead

THE longer stretch in the days and the release of the season fixtures earlier this year is a sure indication that clubs around Ireland are already gearing up for some of the best polo, all summer long.
Clubs across the island of Ireland can look forward to a season of high-performance coaching and training in programmes open to anyone from young people to adult beginners and improvers along with matches, tournaments and events. Wicklow will open the season in the all-weather arena and on the Home Field; Polo Wicklow and Curraghmore Polo Club will next share a weekend of polo in June.

The summer weather predictions from May to September, the prime months of the season are forecasting an average of 15 days of rain with the rest scattered around clouds and sun: the season is shaping up to be roughly half as expected and maybe half as much of either slightly above or slightly below optimum conditions – in other words, no rain in the forecast on those days.

Days for the diary include Wicklow (Friday-Sunday 17-19 May) and Saturday-Sunday 25-26 May at Bishopland Polo Club before the month closes.
